Ar. SNEHAJA. S | Principal Architect
From growing up around buildings to creating homes of my own.
My connection with architecture began long before I studied it.
With my father being a builder in Mangalore, construction and buildings were always a part of my surroundings. Watching projects come together and seeing the process of turning an idea into something real naturally sparked my interest in architecture.
Though my roots are in Kerala, Mangalore is where I grew up, studied, and eventually began my professional journey. I graduated in Bachelor of Architecture, Manipal University in 2016 and started out independently, working on smaller residential projects, bedroom designs and a few projects associated with my father.
Over the years, I had the opportunity to work on a range of projects and eventually established my practice under the name S4 Arch Studio. After nearly a decade of learning, designing, building relationships and finding my own voice as an architect, the practice has now evolved into EssenV Architecture.
I find myself most drawn to homes — and especially to the planning and interiors that shape everyday life. I believe good residential design begins by understanding the people who will live there. Their routines, preferences, personalities and aspirations become the starting point for every decision.
After a decade in practice, that remains the part of architecture I enjoy most: understanding how someone wants to live, and turning that understanding into a home.
